Western Australia Honeymoon Heaven >>
Western Australia covers one third of the Australian continent and has so much to offer to travellers. The landscape covers everything from deserts to tropics, unspoilt beaches, rugged wilderness, majestic forests, and the vast distances of the Outback. There are so many perfect honeymoon destinations in Western Australia that you will be spoilt for choice.
Perth is the capital of Western Australia and is home to around 1.5 million people. It is located by the Swan River and enjoys more hours of sunlight than any other Australian capital city. Perth offers great beaches, plenty of night life, outdoor dining, busy markets and scenic parks. Stay in one of the great range of hotels in Perth or the neighbouring Swan Valley. Honeymoon activities should include a trip to nearby Fremantle and a ferry ride to Rottnest Island.
The South West region of Western Australia can offer honeymooners a wide variety of experiences. There are magnificent hardwood forests, whale watching, world-class surfing, the wineries and fine food of the Margaret River region, an Underwater Observatory, scuba diving, horse riding, and magnificent beaches.
North of Perth lies the Western Australian Coral Coast stretching from the unique rock formations of the Pinnacles at Cervantes north to Exmouth. At Monkey Mia you can have a magical encounter with the bottlenose dolphins that visit daily. The Coral Coast has pristine white sandy beaches, national parks and exotic marine life in the warm turquoise waters. You can swim with whale sharks, ride a camel on the beach, go cruising, sailing, snorkelling or four-wheel-driving or simply relax. Inland the seasonal display of wildflowers makes a wonderful honeymoon trip.
The southern part of Western Australia, away from the west coast, is sometimes referred to as the Golden Outback. It contains many mining towns, like Kalgoorlie, and ghost settlements built during the 1890’s goldrush days. There is something very beautiful about the vast clear skies and arid landscapes of the outback. The region has many grand old buildings and friendly pubs where you can get to meet the locals. The Nullarbor Plain extends from Western Australia to South Australia and contains Australia’s longest straight piece of tarred road (146.6 km).
The North West is one of the world's last true wilderness areas and is largely uninhabited. It is mostly rugged and wild, and is the place to go for an authentic Australian outback honeymoon. Broome is a town built on the pearl industry and sunsets at Cable Beach are both sensational and romantic. It is the gateway to the Kimberley region with the Bungle Bungle ranges and remote national parks.
Whichever part of Western Australia you choose, you will find a wonderful place for a romantic honeymoon that will supply you with fantastic memories to look back on.
